PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely detect the occurrence of wrapping of paper around a fixing heat member of a fixing device. SOLUTION: An induction heating system, which prevents thermal diffusion and concentrates heat in a very narrow range, that is in a part to be heated makes it possible to dispose and use a light-reflecting type sensor 213 of low heat-resistance right near to a heat roller 203 in order to detect wrapping of transfer paper P around the heat roller 203. Accordingly, the wrapping of the transfer paper P around the heat roller 203 can easily and surely be detected, by monitoring a change in an amount of reflected light detected by the light-reflecting type sensor 213.
