PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the storage of a polyether while suppressing the formation of formaldehyde, and the like, in the polyether. SOLUTION: A polyether is stored in a storage vessel in the presence of ambient gas containing an inert gas under a condition satisfying the formula XY<100 wherein X vol.% is the ratio of the volume of the ambient gas to the inner volume of the storage vessel and Y vol.% is the oxygen concentration in the ambient gas. The polyester to be stored by the method is preferably a polyether produced by the ring-opening polymerization of an alkylene oxide in the presence of an alkylene oxide polymerization catalyst and an initiator having at least one active hydrogen atom and further purifying the product.
