PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failed point determination assisting device for an elevator easily reading out failure information from a storage in an elevator control panel and rapidly identifying the failed point by using a small portable terminal such as a mobile phone limited in its storing area. SOLUTION: A communication converter 2 is connected to the elevator control panel 3. The communication converter 2 is equipped with a failure information address storage 28 storing address information storing failure information in a storage 33, a communication data format storage 27 selecting a communication data format corresponding to the type of the control panel, a radio communication part 23 communicating with the portable terminal device, and a wire communication part 21 communicating with an elevator. The communication converter 2 reads out failure information of the control panel 3 by the operation of the portable terminal 1, displaying on a display part 13 of the portable terminal 1 the guidance information for determining the failed point based on the read-out failure information.
