<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a heat ray detection sensor from the outside of an apparatus in an obstrusive manner in a lighting apparatus with a sensor, to secure the detection performance of the heat ray detection sensor, and to make the appearance of a cover good. <P>SOLUTION: In the lighting apparatus which is made to control the lighting of a light source lamp 4 by the output of a human body detection sensor 5, the cover 3 is formed of a polyethylene resin composition, and opposed to the photodetecting surface of the human body detection sensor 5 of the outer surface of the cover.
