<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a co-generation device facilitating maintenance and inspection work such as attachment/detachment of an electric heater from cooling water piping while miniaturizing a casing. <P>SOLUTION: This co-generation device is provided with an internal combustion engine and a generator driven by the internal combustion engine, within the casing. The co-generation device is further provided with a heat recovering heat exchanger for circulating cooling water for the internal combustion engine and discharging the heat of the circulated cooling water to the outside, and an electric heater 21 provided in a cooling water line and consuming electric power generated by the generator to supply heat to the cooling water. The electric heater 21 is provided with a cylindrical part 61 mounted into the casing by fittings 71-74 to circulate cooling water, and a heater part 63 having a heater body 63c inserted in the cylindrical part 61.
