<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell facilitating positioning of a membrane electrode composite, enhancing assembly work efficiency or stacking work efficiency, and saving working labor. <P>SOLUTION: In the solid polymer fuel cell having the membrane electrode composite, an outside dimension of a gas diffusion layer 3a on a fuel electrode 2a side is made larger than the outside dimension of a polymer membrane 1 and the outside dimension of a gas diffusion layer 3b on an oxidant electrode 2b side, and made in almost the same shape as the outside dimension of the separator 6. Since the polymer membrane 1 is present only in a part contributing to power generation without enlarging to the external shape of the separator, the dimension of the polymer membrane can be minimized. Since the edge part of the membrane electrode composite 4 is the gas diffusion layer 3a, the edge parts of the member can easily be aligned, and positioning is made easy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
