SURFACE LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device improving a light emitting property by eliminating a deflection phenomenon generated by mutual interference among discharge regions and lowering a discharge start voltage. SOLUTION: The light source device includes a light source main body having a plurality of space division regions extended in a first direction; a first and a second electrodes respectively formed on both side end parts of the main body; and a third electrode formed between the first and second electrodes so as to be overlapped with the plurality of the space division regions. An inverter generating a discharge voltage applies the discharge start voltage for a first time interval to the first and third electrodes, then, applies a discharge sustaining voltage to the first and second electrodes.
