PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of simply calculating the dynamic characteristics of a rubbery block, by especially applying an impact to the surface of the rubbery block of which the material and shape (including even the arranging shape of a sipe or the like) are the same as those of the block land part of a tire tread part, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This apparatus 1 for calculating the dynamic characteristics of the rubbery block is equipped with a hammer member 2; a reaction force measuring means 3 for making a rigid body 7 fall freely on the surface of the rubbery block 8 fixed and placed on a base stand 5, by making an arm 6 revolve and measuring the reaction force acting on the rigid body 7 over the time required, when the rigid body 7 collides with the surface of the rubbvery block 8 to be subsequently separated therefrom; and an operation means 4 for calculating dynamic compression rigidity, a loss factor and/or excitation displacement from the reaction force measured by the reaction force measuring means 3.
