PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission belt superior in adhesiveness to a core wire and in tearing resistance. SOLUTION: The toothed belt 1 comprises a belt body consisting of a plurality of toothed portions 2 along a belt longitudinal direction and a back portion 4 in which the core wire is embedded. A tooth cloth 5 is adhered to the surfaces of the toothed portions 2, as required. The belt body has at least a rubber layer in which the core wire 3 is embedded, formed of a rubber composition containing an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and/or an ethylene-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer and an ethylene-α-olefin rubber as rubber components at a weight rate of 5/95-100/0, in which organic peroxide is incorporated as cross linking agent and 0.5-13 wt.pts N,N'-m-phenylene dimaleimidos and/or quinone dioximes are incorporated relative to the 100 wt.pts rubber components.
