PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor capable of easily controlling a gap between a piston end face and a cylinder head cover with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The reciprocating compressor 80 has a first compressor 82 and a second compressor 84 which are arranged in a substantially horizontal condition on both sides of a crank shaft 22. Each compressor comprises a connecting rod 28 turnably coupled with the crank shaft and a piston rod 1 coupled with the connecting rod via a crosshead 2. A hydraulic cylinder 3 is fitted to the piston rod. Holder nuts 7 are arranged on an outer circumferential part of the crosshead, and abutted on the hydraulic cylinder. A lock nut 8 prevents each holder nut from being loosened. A hydraulic piston 4 fitted to the hydraulic cylinder is abutted on an end in the axial direction of the crosshead. The hydraulic pressure can be supplied from a hydraulic hole 3b to a space formed by the hydraulic cylinder and the hydraulic piston. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
