<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in performance on snow such as accelerating performance and braking performance on snow without lowering performance on an icy road. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is a pneumatic tire having a large number of blocks divided by a circumferential direction groove and a lug groove on a tread portion surface. Both end bag groove-shaped lug groove wherein both end portions come to a dead end in the block is provided on a tread portion. The both end bag groove-shaped lug grooves 20 wherein both end portions come to the dead end in a bag groove-shape are provided, presses and hardens snow entering a groove portion in a tire tread surface.
