<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing energy used for temperature rise of a CO<SB>2</SB>absorbing and discharging means. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device is provided with the CO<SB>2</SB>absorbing and discharging means absorbing CO<SB>2</SB>in an exhaust passage in a first temperature range and discharging absorbed CO<SB>2</SB>in a second temperature range higher than the first temperature range, a temperature acquisition means 12 acquire temperature T of the CO<SB>2</SB>absorbing and discharging means, a temperature raising means 18 raising temperature of the CO<SB>2</SB>absorbing and discharging means, and a temperature control means 18 controlling the temperature raising means to raise temperature of the CO<SB>2</SB>absorbing and discharging means to the first temperature range when it is determined that temperature acquired by the temperature acquisition means is a judgment temperature which is lower then the first temperature range or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
