PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously operable exhaust gas dust removing apparatus for collecting lumpy dust in an exhaust gas, and its operation method. SOLUTION: In this exhaust gas dust removing apparatus, partition plates 5 are provided so as to divide an almost horizontal duct and the almost vertical duct continued to the almost horizontal duct into a plurality of ducts along a gas flow direction, dampers 2 are provided to the almost horizontal duct parts in the respective ducts 6-9 partitioned by the partition plates 5, a dust sieve means 1 is provided to the almost vertical duct parts, the dampers 2 are controlled so as to be closed when the difference pressure in the exhaust gas flow channel between the upstream and downstream sides of the dust sieve means 1 becomes a set value or above but closed when the differential pressure is below the set value and dust recovering hoppers 3 are provided to the lower end parts of the almost vertical duct parts.
