USE OF A CYCLOPENTENONE PROSTAGLANDIN FOR DELAYING THE ONSET AND/OR PREVENTING THE CONTINUATION OF LABOUR

The present invention provides the use of a cyclopentenone prostaglandin in the manufacture of a medicament for delaying the onset and/or preventing the continuation of labour in a female. Preferably the cyclopentenone prostaglandin prevents and/or reduces an inflammatory response in the reproductive system of a female. Preferably, the cyclopentenone prostaglandin is 15-deoxy-Delta<12,14>-prostaglandin J2, or prostaglandin A1 or a precursor thereof. The invention further provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising cyclopentenone prostaglandin and methods of use thereof.
