The invention relates to a device for dividing a disorderly flow of objects (10) into several pathways (11 - 16) whereon the objects (10) are transported individually and in a consecutive manner. The device comprises a conveyor device (20) for the objects (10), comprising one or more driven conveyor belts (22) and lateral barriers (24) in addition to a pathway divider (30) which comprises at least one separating device (34) which divides the flow of conveyed objects (10). The separating device (34) can be displaced. The device also comprises a device (40) for driving the pathway divider (30) such that the at least one separating device (34) executes a back and forth movement in the direction of conveyance and/or transversal thereto. The pathway divider (30) can be provided with a frame (32) whereon a plurality of separating devices (34) are secured. The central separating device (34) can protrude counter to the direction of conveyance and the lateral separating devices (34) can be rearranged in a staggered manner.
