The invention concerns a test element for analysing sample material such as blood or urine comprising a test carrier (12) which has an analytical area (18) to which sample material can be applied, and a heating element (22) in heat conducting conta ct with the analytical area (18). According to the invention it is proposed that the heating element integrated into the test carrier (12) is formed by a thermistor (22) which self heats and self regulates to a preset target temperature when current flows through it.
