PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin material having antistatic performance as well as toughness and mechanical strength suitable for optical instruments. SOLUTION: The resin material for optical instruments is obtained by adding an electrically conductive material 1E for imparting electric conductivity and a prescribed auxiliary agent 1A to a composition prepared by mixing a thermoplastic resin material 1R and a reinforcing material 1F. The resin material 1R is a polycarbonate resin and the reinforcing material 1F is 0-30 wt.% of glass fibers, 0-30 wt.% of carbon fibers or 5-30 wt.% of a mixture of both the fibers. The electrically conductive material 1E is a carbon black added in an amount of 5 to <30 wt.%. The auxiliary agent 1A comprises a polyolefin resin added in an amount of 1-20 wt.% to promote the dispersion of the carbon black in the resin material 1R, and when the resin material is molded, a surface resistance of the resulting molding is made≤10<SP>9</SP>Ωcm.
