PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life time of a recovery bottle and improve usability, by accumulating and recovering toner into the entire area of the inside of a toner recovery bottle, thereby effectively using the area without increasing the size of an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a first conveyance means for conveying toner horizontally, after the toner is cleared away from the surface of an intermediate transfer body, and a second conveyance means for conveying the toner upwards in the subsequent process, and the toner recovery bottle in which the toner freely falls and accumulates, after being conveyed upward. In the image forming apparatus, a third conveyance means for sending the toner into the recovery bottle, and leveling the surface of the accumulation is disposed in the mouth of the toner recovery bottle.
