PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably apply a bias voltage on at least one of a fixing member and a pressure member over a long period. SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus is provided with the fixing member coming in contact with an unfixed image formed of toner 93 on a recording material and the pressure member coming in press contact with the fixing member, and the unfixed image on the recording material is fixed on the recording material by holding and transporting the recording material by the fixing member and the pressure member. At least one of the fixing member and the pressure member is rotatably supported by a ball bearing 81, and a bias apparatus 94 for applying a bias voltage for imparting a prescribed potential to at least one of the surfaces of the fixing member and the pressure member supported by the ball bearing 81 is electrically connected to the ball bearing 81.
