PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an elevator, in which the car position can be corrected without giving passengers unreliability or uneasiness concerning the elevator in operation for car position correction. SOLUTION: When it is determined that the car position is not correct during running of a car (S1), and as it is determined that the car can be stopped at the closest floor, the car is stopped at the closest floor (steps S3→S6). Simultaneously, emergency run of the car to the final floor for recognition of the car position is announced to passengers in the car through an announcement device 5 (steps S6→S7). Next, the car door is closed (step S8). As the door is fully closed, the car is run to the final floor (step S9). As the car reaches the final floor and stops, a car position correction control means 15 executes car position correction, and corrects pulse count data representing the car position (step S10).
