PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new woven fabric having appearance as if that of Kasuri (splashed pattern) woven fabric and to provide a method for weaving the woven fabric. SOLUTION: The woven fabric K1 is woven into a plain weave fabric by using two kinds of yarns of a twist yarn 11 and a unicolor single yarn 10 as a warp and using a unicolor single yarn 20 as a weft. The twist yarn 11 is formed by twisting two single yarns of a unicolor single yarn 110 with two single yarns of Kasuri yarns 111 dyed in different colors at required intervals in the length direction.
