A miner's cap lamp is fitted on the exterior with a device which includes a sheet of coloured translucent material covering at least a substantial part of the window of the lamp. In the form shown, the device consists of a sheet 1 of translucent resilient plastic having two flanges 2 extending from opposite edges and curved to match the rim of the lamp window. The tips of the flanges may be closer together than their roots. Alternatively, the inner surfaces of the flanges may be serrated or the flanges may have inwardly turned lips or thickenings at the tips. The material may be coloured red, green or amber and may carry lettering or a design. It may also be transparent. |
