The proposed unit for electrochemical deactivation of metallic articles contains an electrolytic cell with internal insulating coating, which is filled with electrolyte, and cathode electrodes. As an anode, a metallic article is used. The cathode electrodes have special design that provides a possibility to deactivate the inside and the outside surfaces of the article. As the electrolyte, 0.1 ... 0.5 % alkali solution of humic substances that arenatural sources of heavy metals, with pH = 7 ... 10, is used. The cathode electrodes can be designed as metallic plates, which are installed in the electrolytic cell with a possibility to be displaced, with holes for stirring electrolyte, or as a mesh. For a possibility to deactivate internal surfaces of some articles, such as pipes, the cathode is designed as a metallic rod that is arranged axially with the article.
