Magnetically coupled dual band antenna

A radio unit 200, such as a cellular telephone or a GPS receiver has an antenna arrangement with two resonators. The first resonator 201 is galvanically coupled to the transceiver 203 via a connector 205. The second resonator 207 is magnetically coupled to and galvanically isolated from the first resonator. The second resonator has a coupling section 209 and a radiating section 211. The second antenna may be in a detachable housing which may be friction mounted on the housing of the first resonator (see fig 4). The first resonator may be a helical coil. The coupling section and radiating of the second resonator may be made of a single conductive wire.
