A syringe, primarily for use in artificial insemination, comprises a tubular holder for receiving a container enclosing the fluid, and a disposable, thin synthetic resin sheath for drawing over the assembly. The fluid is received in a tubular container P, the end of which is cut off at t immediately prior to use. A composite stopper q closes the other end of the tube and is engaged by a push-rod 5. These parts are received in a tubular body 1 over the outside of which is drawn a plastic sheath B having a tapered end 11 with a small ejection orifice 12. The sheath is retained by being gripped between mating surfaces on the rear end of the tube 1 and a collar C. |
