956,465. Erecting buildings. DOMEC. Aug. 12, 1960 [Aug. 14, 1959], No. 28005/60. Heading E1A. In the erection of a building, assemblies 3 of telescoped tubes are supported in concrete blocks 2, and horizontal girders 4 are secured to the tops of the innermost tubes and raised to the extent of a storey by hydraulic jacks 13. Relative movement between the tubes is limited by co-operating shoulders 24, 25, and in the extended position external ribs 34 of an inner tube engage between castellations formed by recesses 31 in the upper end of the surrounding tube. The tubes are locked in this relative position by a screw-threaded ring which cooperates with screw-threads 33, 35 on the ribs and the castellations. Erection is continued by securing horizontal girders 5 (not shown) to the tops of the next innermost tubes and repeating the operation.
|
