The boot consists of a sub-assembly (1) made from a moulded plastic material in its normal form, with a reinforcing structure (6) of filaments embedded in a matrix, both of a material from the same plastics family as the main sub-assembly. The reinforcing structure can be located at the back, front or sides of the boot, between the upper and collar (2) or inside the sole. Surplus material from the boot sub-assembly or reinforcing structure is ground into granules and re-used. An independent claim is included for a method of producing a boot, and recycling surplus material. |
