The device has a channel selector for selecting N data output channels of data integrated circuits (116) from multiple output channels. The N data output channels supply pixel data to a corresponding number of multiple data lines as per a desired resolution of a liquid crystal display. The selector has two option pins for generating a channel selection signal for determining the N data output channels. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a liquid crystal display device (B) a method of controlling a liquid crystal display device.
