The process involves acquiring visually or tele-visually disorders of a portion of a main sewer of a sanitation network to permit coding and count of disorders of the sewer portion. The acquisition of disorders permits steady classification of the disorders in a manner to create a signature representing the state of the sewer portion based on the classification and the disorders count of the portion. The classification of the disorders is according to their impacts on water-tight components, structural integrity or flow from the portion. An independent claim is also included for a system for analyzing a portion of a sanitation system.
