An assembly for connecting the conductors of a printed circuit panel to a flexible lead consists of a series of mating pairs of contacts housed in two insulated housings, which housings slidably fit into each other so that the contacts mate resiliently together. The upper contact 34, consists of a flat blade 41, having a transverse leg 42, at each end, and terminating in a ferrule 46, crimped to the bared end of the core 48 of a lead 49. Each leg 42 projects above the upper surface of member 30, and is bent over to secure it in position. Each lower contact 32 is placed in a channel 18, in housing 16, so that the side-walls of the contact resiliently engage the walls of the channel, the legs 38 passing through an aperture 40, in panel 10, and being secured by bending over the free ends of legs 38, and soldering the ends to printed conductors 12. The housing 22, has a wall 54, terminating in a strain relief flange 56, about which leads 49 are bent in the form of a U. The housing 22 also includes a pair of lead clamping bars 58, each having a strengthening rib 60. Each bar 58 has a clamping member 62 for resilient engagement with the leads 49. Screws 70 retain bars 58 on the housing 22, and also secure covers 74 to the housing. The covers 74 have flanges 84 to engage in grooves 86. A jack-screw 96 passes through a central aperture, which screw, depending on the direction of rotation either draws the housings together or forces them apart.
