FIELD: special electrometallurgy, in particular, melting of ingots of high-melting point, high-reactivity metals and alloys, preferably, titanium alloys used in aerospace industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves producing melt in skull furnace during first remelting process and forming in ingot mold cylindrical slab ingot-electrode from said melt; using resultant ingot-electrode during second remelting process in vacuum arc furnace. Cylindrical slab ingot produced in ingot mold of skull furnace consists of cylindrical part and shank. Calcine remained after vacuum arc remelting process is used as part of burden in the form of recirculated metal in skull melting process. ^ EFFECT: stabilized process for producing of high-quality ingots reliably free from high-melting point inclusions according to requirements of aerospace industry, reduced labor intensity and increased efficiency. |
