FIELD: atomic power engineering; compositions of materials for atomic power engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the compositions of materials for atomic power engineering and is intended to ensure localization of a molten corium of a carcass water-cooled nuclear reactor fissile region at a non-projected emergency with a molten corium outlet from the reactor carcass. The sacrificial ceramic material for a core catcher of the molten corium of the nuclear reactor fissile region includes the basic composition made out of ferric oxide Fe2O3 or a mixture of ferric oxide Fe2O3 with 10-33 mass % of aluminum oxide Al2O3 and the additive of a metal oxide of metal with the general formula MeO, chosen from the following row of: CuO, NiO, CoO, or manganese oxide MnO2, and a moderator of neutrons - gadolinium oxide Gd2O3 at the following ratio of ingredients (in mass %): 1) Fe2O3 - 60-95, MeO - 5-40 or MnO2 - 10-40, Gd2O3 - 0.1-0.2 above 100% or 2) Fe2O3 - 47-85, Al2O3 - 10-33, MeO - 6-20 or MnO2 - 7.5-17, Gd2O3 - 0.1-0.2 above 100 %.
