PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct luminance irregularities due to oblique projection or lens shift. SOLUTION: An image projecting apparatus has an image forming element 18 for forming an original image corresponding to an image signal, a projection optical system 31 for projecting the original image onto a surface to be projected, and information acquiring means 17, 19 for acquiring information about an optical axis angle of the projection optical system with respect to the surface to be projected.
