PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine start detecting device capable of easily detecting start of an engine. SOLUTION: The engine start detection device comprises a vibration sensor 1 for detecting vibrations generated by the engine mounted on a vehicle and a detection circuit for detecting the start of the engine based on a detection signal from the vibration sensor 1. The detection circuit comprises a low pass filter 4 for passing low frequency components of the detection signal from the vibration sensor 1.
