PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long tire cord which can maintain the strength and diameter of a joined cord at the same values as those of the main body of the cord, to provide a long tire cord obtained at a low cost by taking out a warp as the cord from a treated cord, and to provide a pneumatic tire reinforced with the cords. SOLUTION: This tire cord 1 obtained by joining two cords 11, 12 comprising many thermoplastic synthetic filaments to each other through a joined portion 13 is characterized in that the joined portion 13 is formed by thermally melting the end portions of the two cords 11, 12, fusing the thermally melted end portions to each other, and then drawing the fused portion in a semi-solidified state. The outer diameter D1 of the joined portion 13 is preferably 0.8 to 1.1 times the diameter D0 of the cord main portion, and the cross sectional shape of the joined portion is preferably formed in an approximately circular shape.
