PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain an electric contact material which has excellent deposition resistance and consumption resistance and is made to dense. SOLUTION: Ag particles, at least one kind of heat resistant non-oxide particles selected from the group consisting of WC, W, Mo, Ni and C, and further, at least one kind of metal oxide particles selected from SnO<SB>2</SB>, In<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, ZnO, CuO and Cu<SB>2</SB>O according to circumstances are subjected to warm press under a pressure of≥100 MPa at a temperature of <500°C, thus the electric contact material is obtained.
