PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle forward viewing device having high visibility, manufacturable at low cost, and not directly shielding a vehicle forward view obtained through a windshield when the vehicle forward recognizing device is not required, in the vehicle forward viewing device for indirectly viewing a vehicle forward area on the lower side of the lower limit line of the direct view of a driver. SOLUTION: This vehicle forward viewing device 1 is disposed between an eye point E of a driver H and the front end of the vehicle to indirectly view the vehicle forward area on the lower side of the lower limit line S of the direct view of the driver H. The device comprises a wedge prism positioned on the upper side of the lower limit line S, and the wedge prism reflects a light beam from the vehicle forward area in the direction of the eye point E of the driver H.
