The shelving system has shelf holders (6) detachably fitted on vertically spaced fixings formed as flat elements arranged at the side of the shelves. The fixing elements on one side and each two shelf holders per shelf on the other are designed so that the corresponding shelf holder hooks on the relevant inside of the fixing element facing the shelf face. The fixing element has on the inside facing the shelf surface at least two hook type webs whilst the corresponding shelf holders have two spaced counter faces (7,8) interacting with projections.
