摘要 965,406. Endless conveyers. E. H. BUTLER, and C. G. WILLS. Oct. 13, 1960 [July 17, 1959], No. 24629/59. Heading B8A. Receptacles pivoted between a pair of endless chains in an elevator are prevented from tilting as they pass around the chain reversing sprockets by guide devices which engage a guide member secured to each receptacle and travel with this member substantially throughout the period during which the suspension points of the receptacle are travelling in a part-circular path. As shown, each end of a receptacle, Fig. 1 (not shown), is secured to a member 18 which is pivotally connected at its upper end to an endless chain 8 passing around sprockets 6, 7 and which is provided at its lower end with a horizontal shaft 25 carrying a guide roller engaging between guides 80 on the vertical runs of the chain and guides 66 adjacent the sprocket 7. An endless chain 48 passing around sprockets 51, 52 and a guide rail 49, Fig. 4, is provided with four equally-spaced forks 47 which engage the guide rollers on the members 18 as the upper ends of the members 18 pass around the sprocket 7, which sprocket drives one of the sprockets 51 by means of a chain 53. A plate 29, Figs. 2, 3, is rotated about an axis 30 at the same speed as the sprocket 6 and is provided with four pairs of pincer jaws 27 which automatically grip the guide rollers on the members 18 as the upper ends of the members 18 begin their semi-circular path and release them at the end of the semi-circular path, the jaws being actuated by a stationary cam 39, Fig. 3 and Fig. 7 (not shown).
