<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive laser welding method and apparatus excellent in workability, in which resins having transparency in visual light regions with each other can be welded without using an absorbing material and the resins can also be welded from the inner site even if they form a cylindrical article. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises a process of bringing the resins into contact with each other and a process of melting and welding the resins under pressure by casting a laser ray on the contact surface, and the contacting process comprises the step of bringing resins having different optical-absorption spectrum characteristics into contact with each other, and the melting process comprises the step of casting a laser ray oscillating a wave length of a region having a larger optical-absorption as compared with the optical-absorption spectrum characteristics of each resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
