<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost solar cell capable of outputting like the conventional model, free of long-term reliability degradation, and fabricated without acid treatment or solder layer formation on the electrode surface to follow electrode formation by baking from above the antireflection film. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell comprises a semiconductor substrate of one conductivity type with a diffusion layer of the other conductivity type formed on its front surface, an antireflection film and a front-surface electrode provided thereon, and a rear-surface electrode provided on the rear surface of the semiconductor substrate. The front-surface electrode is composed mainly of Ag, and contains 0.05-5 pts.wt. in terms of metal of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of Co, Zn, Zr, Fe, Cr, and their compounds against the Ag 100 pts.wt.
