摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass ceramic which is suitable for substrates of optical and electronic components and can be produced with high precision and high homogeneity even when it has a small thickness or a large surface area. <P>SOLUTION: The glass ceramic contains, by weight based on oxide, 35-60% SiO<SB>2</SB>, >4-10% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-10% P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 16.5-40% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 1-10% TiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-8% Ta<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 0-6% Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 1-10% ZrO<SB>2</SB>, 6-20% MgO, 0-10% CaO, 0-4% SrO, 0-8% BaO, 0-4% ZnO, 0-4% (SnO<SB>2</SB>+CeO<SB>2</SB>) and 0-4% (SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>+ Cl<SP>-</SP>), provided the total content of (SnO<SB>2</SB>+ CeO<SB>2</SB>+ SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>+ Cl<SP>-</SP>) is in between 0.01-4%.
