PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "speaker" wherein a maximum amplitude permitted for a diaphragm is increased without giving an adverse effect to an operating characteristic at a high sound frequency and to thinning. SOLUTION: The speaker 21 is provided with: a magnetic circuit 22; a voice coil 24 wound on a bobbin 23; the diaphragm 25 adhered and fixed to the base end of the bobbin 23; a damper 29 for supporting an inner circumferential part of the diaphragm 25; a frame 27 for supporting the peripheral of the diaphragm 25 via a peripheral edge 26; a cover 28 for supporting the periphery of the damper 29; and a dust-proof cap 30 capped to the bobbin 23. An annular flat part 25a flat over the entire circumference is formed to the inner circumferential part of the diaphragm 25. The outer diameter of the annular flat part 25a is selected nearly equal to the outer diameter of the end face 33b of the magnetic circuit 22 at a side opposed to the annular flat part 25a and the inner circumferential part of the damper 29 and the periphery of the dust-proof cap 30 are adhered and fixed to the annular flat part 25a.
