<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent appropriation and leakage of data by authenticating that a storage device connected with a communication line is a device to be connected with the communication line thereby suppressing spoofing. <P>SOLUTION: Upon receiving a packet where an IP address is recorded in an IP header and a certificate is contained in a certificate payload from the storage device 300, the authentication apparatus 200 compares an IP address recorded in the certificate with the IP address recorded in the IP header of the packet.
