<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing tool with which a jointing fixture is pressed to a pipe even in narrow places. <P>SOLUTION: In a pressing tool for pressing the tool receiving part (1) of the jointing fixture (2) is pressed onto a pipe (3) inserted into the jointing fixture (2), the tool receiving part (1) has parts (4, 21) to be pressed, the external shape of the parts (4, 21) to be pressed has approximately constant curvature in the peripheral direction. The pressing tool has a pair of pressing bodies (5) and each pressing body (5) has pressing areas (7, 24) corresponding to the parts (4, 21) to be pressed. The end part of each pressing body (5) is brought into contact with each other in the state where the pressing tools are closed. At least one of a pair of pressing bodies (5) can be elastically deformed and the pressing areas (7, 24) have different curvature in the peripheral direction as compared with the external shape of the tool receiving part when the pressing tool is in the no-load state. While, the external shapes of the pressing areas (7, 24) are approximately constant curvature in the peripheral direction corresponding to the external shapes of the parts (4, 21) to be pressed when the pressing tool is closed and in the pressing state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
