PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron heat pump which assures low power consumption and does not require an additional circuit for maintaining a vacuum gap. SOLUTION: This electron heat pump is provided with an emitter 1 and a collector 2. Since an electrically and thermally insulating spacer 5 for keeping constant a gap G between the emitter electrode 11 and collector electrode 21 is integrated to a semiconductor substrate 20 of the collector 2, the vacuum gap can be set to the predetermined interval while inverse flow of heat is prevented by introducing the simplified structure having reduced the number of components.
