PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector terminal surely disenabling insertion into a connector housing, when a retainer is in a proper locking state to the connector housing, and a connector using the same. SOLUTION: The connector terminal 1 is provided with a box part 4 folded into a square cylinder shape extended in a fore-and-aft direction toward front, a terminal contact piece 6 extended on the whole from a front end part of the box part 4 backward and formed in a cantilever shape inside the box part 4, and an engagement hole 5 formed on an underside of the box part 4 to be engaged with a lance 17 protruded into a cavity 12 of the connector housing 11. Further, the connector terminal 1 has a notched part 7a at a coupling part 7 of the box part 4 and the terminal contact piece 6 inhibiting the terminal from going into the cavity 12 any more in engagement with the lance 17 kept incapable of bending.
