PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color toner having high coloring power and high saturation, excellent color reproducing property, and capable of achieving a good color image. SOLUTION: In manufacture of the color toner, the color toner is designed so that, in a state formed as a toner film on a transparent sheet, a transmittance T1(%) at a maximum absorption wavelength obtained from the results of measurement of spectral transmission properties in a wavelength range of 400-700 nm and a thickness L (μm) of the toner film satisfy the expression (1): logT1=-AL+B (where A and B are each a constant) and the expression (2): A≥0.2 and so that a transmittance T2 at a maximum transmission wavelength of the toner film having the thickness L at which the transmittance T1 at the maximum absorption wavelength becomes 1% in the expression (1) becomes≥85%.
