PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably maintain a feeling of performance, to secure sufficient lengths of strings behind a bridge, and to reduce the longitudinal length of a stringed instrument main body. SOLUTION: The stringed instrument 10 is comprised of: a body part 16 extended toward the front and rear and four strings positioned on the front 16A side of the a body part; a tail piece 17 for supporting the rear end side of each string 11 and disposed on the rear part front side of the body part 16; and a tail wire 18 for keeping the tail piece 17 apart from the front face of the body 16. The tail piece 17 is formed in piece-shape or plate-shape along the front face 16A of the body part 16, and supports the rear end areas of the strings 11 in the state that they are returned at the rear end side.
