PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguisher facilitating the fire fighting by positioning a handle on a central vertical line of a body vessel, improving a whole weight balance when lifting it, and allowing a user to straightly lift it and to easily hold it. SOLUTION: This fire extinguisher is provided with a valve case 2 mounted on an upper mouth 1a of the body vessel 1, the handle 10 comprising a lower side portion 10a attached to the upper surface of the valve case 2 and an upper side portion 10b positioned in an upper part opposed to the lower side portion 10a, and an operating lever 11 disposed between the upper side portion 10b and the lower side portion 10a of the handle.
